Police search for armed gunmen

Meridian police are still searching for two gunmen who robbed New's Restaurant, along with several of its employees, Wednesday night.
Lt. Lee Currie of the department's Criminal Investigations Division said employees at the popular eatery at 5020 Poplar Springs Drive was robbed at gunpoint at about 9:45 p.m.
Currie said one of the men entered through the front door while the other entered though a back door. They both carried revolvers and after taking money from the cash register, robbed the employees of their money, Currie said.
Several employees were present when the robbery took place, but no customers were in the restaurant, he said. The thieves made off with an undisclosed amount of money and fled in an unknown direction, he said.
One of the men is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, and wearing a blue bandanna wrapped around the lower part of his face, a black and yellow jacket and dark jeans.
The other suspect is described as dark skinned, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, and wearing a blue bandanna wrapped around the top of his head and a black or dark blue zip up sweat shirt or jacket.
