U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Cather J. Bohannon, daughter of Cathter L. and Sammie L. Bohannon of DaKalb, recently was promoted to her current rank while serving with Commander in Chief, U.S. Naval Forces Europe, London.
Bohannon was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in her designated specialty.
She joined the Navy in June 1998.
Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Shannon A. Hill, daughter of Christine W. Hill of 76 Wilson Drive, Cuba, Ala., and L.C. Hill of Des Moines, Iowa, was recently promoted to her current rank while serving with Naval Reserve Recruiting Command Detachment Three, Grand Prairie, Texas.
Hill was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in her designated specialty.
Hill is a 1988 graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School. She joined the Navy in January 1989.
The Salvation Army Thrift Store will hold a half-price sale on clothing, shoes and books next week. The store is located at 2739 Sixth St. It is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
