QUITMAN Services for Lois Jenny Gatlin will be held today at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Wayne County.
Mrs. Gatlin, 87, of Shubuta, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Gatlin of Shubuta; two daughters, Sarah Monkis of Nowater, Okla. and Betty Brown of Ocelata, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
REV. JOHN P. HILL
Services for the Rev. John P. Hill will be held today at 11 a.m. at First Union Baptist Church with the Revs. Charlie Jackson and Jimmy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Enterprise Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Hill, 93, of Meridian, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at East Mississippi Day Hospital where he received compassionate care. Rev. Hill was a Methodist and Baptist pastor for over 70 years. He was trained at Gulfside Methodist Seminary in Waveland. Rev. Hill also owned a demolition company until the 1990's.
Survivors include a daughter, Johnnie P. Loper of Meridian; three sons, Nathan Jerome Hill of Quitman, Joshua Hill Sr. of Houston and Theodore Hill of Stockton, Calif.; a son-in-law, M.C. Loper; daughters-in-law, Mamie Hill; Mattie Fay Hill, Iona Hill and Etta M. Hill, 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife and four children, James Hill, Napolean Hill, Rosie Norwedin Hill, and Walter Hill.
RUDOLPH JACKSON SR.
Disabled veteran
Services for Rudolph Jackson Sr. will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. M.C. Thompson Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Galilee Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson, 69, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, in his home.
Survivors include a son, Rudolph Jackson Jr. of New York; two brothers, Leroy Jackson and Charles Jimmy Jackson, both of Meridian; and an aunt, of Jackson.
Visitation will be today from 5-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
CLEDDIE SHUMAKE
SEBASTOPOL Services for Cleddie Shumake will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with the Rev. David Hamm officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine Catholic Church with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shumake, 61, of Conehatta, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Shumake, four sons, Hilbert Shumake, Gerald Shumake, James Monroe Shumake and Bernon Shumake, all of Conehatta; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
