The folks at DT Grinders Restaurant and Pub will ring in the New Year jazz-style Sunday as they host "New Year's Eve and All That Jazz" featuring the Steve Watson trio.
Edward Robinson, co-owner, said the party won't be a wild one but it will be a fun-filled night for friends to get out, dance, eat, enjoy each other and celebrate the coming year.
Beginning at 5 p.m. and lasting until 9:30 p.m. is a special New Year's Eve dinner featuring DT's popular prime rib dinner for $20.01 and the more popular monthly dining room specials featured throughout the year, he said.
Steve Watson, jazz guitarist, will provide music in the dining room before joining the rest of his band upstairs for the New Year's Eve celebration.
The party upstairs begins at 10 p.m. with a hors d'oeuvres bar featuring creole shrimp with stuffed cherry tomatoes, smoked salmon, chocolates, mushrooms and jalapeno crab dip. Party-goers can, at their leisure, taste six different types of champagne throughout the evening at DT's no-host champaign tasting event.
Reservations are encouraged since seating for the party is limited because many tables and chairs had to be moved to make way for the dance floor and jazz band, Robinson said.
Party favors will be passed around just before the clock strikes midnight.
For reservations, call 693-1988. Walk-ins are also welcome, Robinson said. The cover charge is $25 and includes the hors d'oeuvres bar, champagne tasting, music and dancing. The priced is reduced to $20 per person for those who eat New Year's dinner there.
People who want to dance but don't want the food and champagne do not have to pay the cover charge, he said.

Doors open at Ho Jo's at 6 p.m. The Jeff Holland Band gets geared up at 8 p.m. For $25 a head, New Year's Eve party-goers get hors d'oeuvres all night long, party favors, music, dancing and champagne at midnight. Tickets for the party are still available, but only a few rooms are left. The management at Ho Jo's recommends party-goers make reservations for rooms to eliminate the danger of drinking and driving.
The Landing, normally closed on Sundays, will open its restaurant and bar on New Year's Eve. The restaurant opens at 5 p.m. The bar will remain open until the crowd dies down or until 1 a.m., whichever comes first. There is no cover charge. For reservations, call 693-5623.
Princeton's will host "Year 2001 at Ivy's Pub" with a deejay beginning at 8 p.m. and featuring live music with guitarist Timmy Segars. The party includes free party favors and free champagne at midnight. No cover charge.
Q-101 will host a live broadcast at the Midnight Sun. The party includes $201 in cash and prizes and a 2001 balloon-drop at 2 a.m. Cover charge at the after-hours club is $10 per person.
