    OBITUARIES FOR WEDNESDAY, DEC. 27, 2000

    BUTELLE GRAHAM
    Vice president Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi
    JACKSON Memorial services for Butelle Graham were to be held today at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Ridgeland. Mark Seepe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Graham, 81, a native of Columbia, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Graham attended high school and later Co-Lin Junior College in Columbia. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving as a crew member on a B-29 bomber. He flew 28 missions over Japan and was a member of the flight crew that provided air support for the Battleship Missouri during the signing of the Statement of Surrender ending the war. He was awarded several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service.
    A longtime Mississippi resident, Mr. Graham served as vice president with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi retiring in 1982 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the North Jackson Sertoma Club, former president of the Brookhaven Kiwanis Club and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War.
    Survivors include his wife, Shirley Graham of Brandon; two sons, Lee Graham of Jackson and Ken Graham of Madison; a daughter-in-law, Maria Graham of Madison; and two grandchildren.
    The family requests memorials be made to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, 4395 South Dr., Jackson, MS 39209 or First United Methodist Church, 334 W. Jackson St., Ridgeland, MS 39157.
    MARGARET ARNELL HOPKINS
    Retired master seamstress with Meridian Manufacturing Corp.
    Services for Margaret Arnell Hopkins were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in the Zero Community, with the Rev. Alan Randall officiating. Burial was to be in the church cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Hopkins, 79, of Meridian, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in Meridian. She was a Methodist and attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Rose Hopkins Litchfield and her husband, Wendell "Winky", and Rebecca Lynn Hopkins Holmes and her husband, James, two sons, Leonard Clark "Sonny" Hopkins Jr. and his wife, Paulette Aycock Hopkins, and Don Michael Hopkins and his wife, Pamala Kaye Page Hopkins, all of Meridian; five sisters-in-law, Ann Bolton of Trinity, Texas, Kathryn Bolton Duke of Meridian, Ora Ann Hopkins Elam of Chicago, Mary Stella Hopkins Teremunde and her husband, Roy, of Rothbury, Mich., Sarah Glenda Hopkins Redden and her husband, Pete, of Caruthersville, Mo.; two brothers-in-law, Billy Earl Hopkins and his wife, Dessie, of New Madrid, Mo., George Washington Hopkins Jr. and his wife, Hazel, of Caruthersville, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Clark Hopkins Sr.; her father, Rufus Arnold Bolton; her mother, Rosa Lee Leggett Bolton; and two brothers, Bob R. Bolton and Laddie E. Bolton.
    The family requests memorials be made to The Center for Research and Treatment of Alzheimer's Patients.
    Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Anthony D. "Tony" Litchfield, George Alan Litchfield, Kenneth Mark Litchfield, David James Holmes, Jonathan Scott Hopkins, David Clark Hopkins and Josh Hopkins, Steven Scott Litchfield and Jeremy Glenn Litchfield.
    JOSEPH PRESTON GIBBON
    Retired carpenter's foreman for Gilchrist Timber Company
    NEWTON Services for Joseph Preston "J.P." Gibbon were to be held today at 10:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rodney Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Cemetery.
    Mr. Gibbon, 91, of Hickory, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in his home. Mr. Gibbon was born in the Berry Community in Newton County. He was the youngest of six children born to Joe and Julie Gibbon. He married Miletus Foreman on Sept. 22, 1933. They moved to Gilchrist, Ore., in the 40's and he worked for Gilchrist Timber Company until his retirement in 1972. He loved duck and goose hunting and watching baseball games.
    Survivors include his wife, Miletus Foreman Gibbon of Hickory; a daughter, Kay Gibbon and her husband, Jake, Young, of Gilchrist; two sisters, Evva Swearingen of Newton and Lora Childre of Rio Dell, Calif.; two grandchildren, Cory Young of Monmouth, Ore. and Kaycee Young of Gilchrist; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe P. and Julie Everett Gibbon.
    Pallbearers will be Bob Pugh, Bob Caldwell, Joe Gibbon, Billy Gibbon, Donald Caldwell and Jimmy Caldwell.
    JUANITA B. FOX
    PHILADELPHIA Services for Juanita B. Fox will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services, with the Rev. Ray Luke officiating. Burial will be in Coye Assembly of God Cemetery.
    Mrs. Fox, 57, died on Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Leake Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
    Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Fox of Philadelphia; her stepmother, Faye Baysinger of Union; three sisters, Joyce Freeman of South Carolina, Hazel Davis of Philadelphia and Jan Luke of Preston; two brothers, James Baysinger of Jackson and Billy Baysinger of Union; and several nieces and nephews.
    LANNIE MOORE MCCLENDON
    Services for Lannie Moore McClendon will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, with the Rev. Carey McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Clark's Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. McClendon, 63, of Porterville, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include her husband, Travis McClendon of Meridian; a daughter, Gracie Young and her husband, Melvin, of Cuba, Ala.; a son, Jerome Key and his wife, Shirley, of Meridian; her mother, Mattie Moore of Porterville; seven sisters, Mammie T. Nelson, Ora D. Edwards, Bettye D. Blanks, Dorothy Jean Moore and Mary Ann Brown, all of Kemper County, Sally Mitchell of Meridian and Johnnie Mae Naylor of Kemper County; 11 stepchildren, Rosie Ann Hubbard, Minnie McGowan, Joyce McClendon, Dorothy Manual and Sammie McClendon, all of Biloxi, Robert McClendon of California, Debra Graham, David McClendon and Richard McClendon, all of Meridian, Peggy Goodwin of Columbus, Ga., and Raymond McClendon of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    DELOVEN TURNER
    Hospital orderly
    BUTLER, Ala. Services for Deloven Turner will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Red Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kendall Turner officiating. Burial will be in Red Springs Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Turner, 63, of Butler, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Willow Trace Nursing Center.
    Survivors include two sons, Danny Turner of Needham and Terry Lee Turner of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Patricia Lolley of Demopolis and Rose Turner of Florida; a brother, Wayne Tyson of Toxey; a sister, Annette Lee of Talladega; and four grandchildren.
    Visitation will be Thursday from noon-2 p.m. at the church.
