Dec. 7, 2000
In January, two criminal justice courses will be offered at Mississippi State University, Meridian campus, thanks to a cooperative arrangement between the Meridian campus and the University of Southern Mississippi.
Correctional Administration and Criminal Law will be offered during the Spring 2001 semester on the Meridian campus. The classes mark the first phase of a plan between the schools to offer Meridian students the same bachelor's degree in criminal justice currently available on the Hattiesburg campus.
Both courses will be taught by USM professors and each will fulfill three hours requirements toward the bachelor's degree. The remaining upper level courses required for the degree will be offered by MSU-Meridian faculty.
Registration will be conducted on the first class night by USM Department of Continuing Education and Distance Learning personnel. Prospective students may contact Stephen Mallory about the criminal justice program or Ray Stevens about registration at (601) 266-4509. Information is also available on the MSU-Meridian campus through Dennis Mitchell at 484-0167.
