Museum auction artists to be honored with party

Artists whose works will be featured in Meridian Museum of Art's upcoming Art Auction will be recognized during a party held in their honor.
The party, which also will include a preview reception of the works, will be held Friday evening from 7 to 9 at the museum.
Artists will be on hand at the reception to be honored and introduced to the audience, as well as to answer questions about their work. Reception attendees also will have the opportunity to preview the auction works. More than 60 pieces will be on display oil paintings, watercolors, pottery and jewelry representing a vast array of artworks by the finest artists in Mississippi and Alabama, said Heder.
Artists with work in the auction will include celebrated artists from around the Southeast past and present among them Homer Casteel. Also featured in the event will be Kent Allen, Collin Asmus, Neubern Atkinson, Jack Bartlett, Bonnie Busbee, Charlie Busler, Betty Jane Chatham, Terry and Kate Cherry, Susan Clark, James Conner, Kent Davis, Marsha Eldridge, Todd Eldridge, Sylvia Follis, Shayne Garrett, Les Green, Jim Hardin, Laura Holladay, Tommie Hollingsworth-Williams, Joey Horn, Joey Horne, Millie Howell, Ruth Vinson Irwin, Bonnie James, Patricia Kent, Kaye Kiker, Dave Kimbrell, Ron Koehler, Cheryl Magnusson, John Marshall, Debbie Matthews, Gayle McCarty, George Ann McCullough, Annabelle Meacham, Mark Millet, Charles Munoz, Linda Munoz, Ron Murray, Elizabeth Mitchell Pajerski, Doris Putnam, Clo Ann Rabb, Sarah Ellen Riley, Daniel Saucier, Jeff Shaw, Bryce Speed, Erma Stafford, Martha Stennis, Sabyna Sterrett and Larry Van Dyke.
After the dinner, the live auction will begin at 8 p.m. with professional auctioneer Adam Marcus at the helm.
Tickets for the dinner and gala auction are $50 (general admission tickets for the auction only are $10) and may be purchased at the museum or by calling 693-1501. The museum is located at 628 25th Ave. and is open Tuesday through Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.
