OBITUARIES FOR WEDNESDAY, NOV. 22, 2000

Graveside services for John Robert "Jimmy" Gatlin will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Nick Holden officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gatlin, 63, of Meridian, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Darrell Gatlin, a stepdaughter, Lynn Smith, two stepsons, Mike Garrett and Keith Garrett; two special daughters, Edna Stewart Kilgore and Mitsy Smith Tucker, all of Meridian; a sister, Judy Duvall of Shubuta; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Gatlin.
Pallbearers will be Ben Parker, Fred Parker, Eugene Walker, Johnny Kilgore, Richard Parker, Jerry Miller and Anthony Wilson.

SEBASTOPOL Services for Kay McBeath will be held today at 2 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Bobby Harfoot and Reggie Williams officiating. Burial will be in Steam Mill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. McBeath, 64, of Union, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Brandon Court Nursing Home.
Survivors include five sons, Sandy McBeath and Tom McBeath, Cleve McBeath, all of Union, Don McBeath of Mesquite, N.M. and Carl McBeath of Bossier City, La.; four sisters, Blanche Buntyn and Etolie Thrash, both of Union, Molly Davidson of Byram and Lucille Kimball of Moss Point; three brothers, Joe Frank Buntyn of Collinsville, Willie Buntyn of Union and Jerry Buntyn of Decatur; and seven grandchildren.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Thurman Sims will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Neshoba County with military honors.
Mr. Sims, 77, of Kosciusko, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his former wife of many years, Annie Sims of Philadelphia; a daughter, Virginia Fanning of Union; two sisters, Lula Mae Brown of Philadelphia and Hazel Beers of Atlanta; two brothers, Levern Sims of Jackson and W.H. Sims of Philadelphia; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
ANNIE PEARL LEWIS

QUITMAN Services for Annie Pearl Lewis will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Norman Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Lewis, 90, of Rose Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include a son, Henry Lewis and two brothers, Paul Moulds and Junior Moulds, all of Rose Hill; a sister, Opal Author of Meridian; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Lewis; a son, Clyde Monroe Lewis; a daughter, Mary Katherine Petty; and a great-grandson, William Kendell Harris.
REBECCA ANN PHELPS

STARKVILLE Services for Rebecca Ann Phelps will be held today at 3 p.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church, with the Revs. John Foles and Carl Nickels officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Welch Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Phelps, 24, of Maben, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Survivors include three sons, Kody Phelps, Matthew Phelps and Dakota Phelps, all of Maben; a God-daughter, Brittany Wade of Weir; her fiance, David Richards of Columbus; her stepfather and mother, Frank and Tyna Williamson; her father and stepmother, Wallace and Janet Phelps of Meridian; four sisters, April Wade of Weir, Christina McDaniel, Julie Day and Angela McCrory, all of Meridian; two brothers, James "Bubba" Phelps of Maben and Charlie Williamson of Eupora; her grandparents, Charles and Barbara Blake of Columbus, Ruth Arnold of Mathiston, Annie Pearl Taylor of Fulton and Wallace Phelps of Alabama.
The family requests memorials be made to Double Springs Baptist Church.
CHARLES BAILEY FERRILL SR.
Graveside services for Charles Bailey Ferrill Sr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery, with the Rev. Nick Nicholson officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Grenada on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Mr. Ferrill, 90, of Grenada, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Riley Hospital. He was born in Meridian on Sept. 5, 1910 and was a 1929 graduate of Meridian High School, where he was team captain for both the football and basketball teams. Mr. Ferrill went on to attend the University of Mississippi on a football scholarship. While earning his bachelor of business administration in accounting, he played both football and basketball for the Ole Miss Rebels. Mr. Ferrill was also a member of Kappa Alpha Order and graduated in 1935.
With his family, he resided in Grenada for 64 years. During this time he was general manager of the Coca-Cola Company and went on to practice full-time public accounting. Mr. Ferrill served as a Grenada City Councilman and was a member of the Lion's Club. He attended First United Methodist Church, where he was on the board of stewards. As an active Ole Miss alumnus, he was a member of the M Club. Mr. Ferrill returned to Meridian in 1999 and resided at Silverleaf Manor.
Survivors include his children, Charles Bailey Ferrill Jr. of Little Rock, Ark., and Cornelia Ferrill Laird of Meridian; a sister, Rowena Ferrill Eastland of Meridian; a sister-in-law, Mildred Ferrill; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Rogers Ferrill; brothers, John Richard Ferrill and Cicero Columbus Ferrill; and two sisters, Catherine Ferrill Melton and Lydia Ferrill McMahon.
The family requests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. to the funeral home.
FRANKIE MAE OLIVER
Services for Frankie Mae Oliver will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Methodist Church in Enterprise. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Oliver, 94, of Enterprise, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Robbins, Ill.
Survivors include a sister, Johnnie Woods and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Visitation will be Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
LUCILLE MCCELLAND

Services for Lucille McClelland will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lockhart, with the Rev. O.L. Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McClelland, 66, of Meridian, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Clayton of Meridian; three sons, Sedrick Clayton of Daleville, Charles Clayton of Porterville and Eddie Clayton of Meridian; her stepfather, L.C. Brown of East St. Louis, Mo.; five sisters, Louise Clayton of Lauderdale, Bernice Clayton of Meridian, Barbara Ross, Dorothy Radford and Patricia McMullan, all of East St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parentS.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
