Burn victim says 'thank you'

By Staff
To the Editor:
I was severely burned in a fire on June 23, 2000 and, while I am still suffering with my injuries, I have come a long way toward recovery. But, I also still have a long way to go.
I am very blessed to be employed with the Meridian Fire Department. Chief Bunky Partridge, my boss and friend, is the most wonderful employer ever. I will be trying to go back to work full time very soon.
I want to thank all the wonderful people of the Meridian Fire Department, Lost Gap, Protestant church and everyone who has loved and supported me through the most difficult year of my life. I've lost my mother, my 16-year-old precious dog and almost lost my life. It has not been easy but I am very grateful for all of the encouragement I have received.
May God bless you and everyone.
