Three years ago, three sisters opened up a little shop called Clarion Couture in Belmont, Miss. What started as a project in their mother’s dining room is now spreading to its second location – across the state line in Red Bay.
The shop gets its namesake from a cousin of the sisters – Madison Pearson, Morgan Poole and Maycee Chambers. Their cousin Clarion Malaya passed away four years ago after being diagnosed with brain cancer. The sisters found a way to honor her memory and the many others who suffer from childhood cancer through the opening of their shop and salon.
“Let Your Light Shine” has become their motto. It is inspired by the Bible verse Matt. 5:16 and the song “This Little Light of Mine,” which was their cousin’s favorite song.
“September is childhood cancer awareness month, and we want to honor that,” Pearson said. Sep. 8 they will be hosting a Preview Party from 6-8 p.m. at their new Red Bay location. To gain entrance to the Preview Party, attendees must make a donation, in the amount of their choosing, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Preview Party will include a Ronaldo jewelry give away that guests can enter.
The Grand Opening will be Sep. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be giveaways every hour, and attendees will be given an additional opportunity to make a donation to St. Jude.
At both the Preview Party and the Grand Opening, customers will receive a 20 percent off discount on their purchase, excluding Ronaldo products.
Right next door will be the Clarion Couture Salon, that will be connected inside to the shop. The salon offers all hair services, manicures and pedicures. Massage and tanning bed options will be coming soon.
This second location is only five miles away from the first one in Belmont, but the locale is very promising, Pearson said.
“A lot of our customers are from the Red Bay area. It’s a great location,” she said.
The normal business hours for Clarion Couture will be Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
