Services for Aurelia D. McCormick will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel in Newton County, with the Rev. John Cash officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Methodist Church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home-Newton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McCormick, 84, of Rose Hill, died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at her daughter's home. She was a retired school bus driver with the Newton City Schools and a member of Antioch Christian Church in Newton County.
Survivors include daughters Martha Ann Ballard of Jackson, Tillie Stewart and her husband Luther of Shubuta, Judy Rowell and her husband Mitchell of Rose Hill and Aurelia Pearl Alexander and her husband Mike of Rose Hill; a son Johnny McCormick and his wife Rose Mary of Meridian; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John W. McCormick and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home in Newton County.
Services for Rosie L. James will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home, with Rev. Gerald Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. James, 79, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters Doris Moffite and her husband George, Mary Hannah Emerson and her husband Ralph and Fredna Cole and her husband Curtis, all of Meridian; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Annie James.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Charles Ed Ray will be held Tuesday at noon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with the Rev. A.D. Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ray, 78, of Meridian, died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a retired employee of Owens Corning.
Survivors include his daughters Margaret Holloway-Wallace of Detroit, Mich., Kay C. Ray of Philadelphia, Peggy Dease of Picayune and Barbara Kidd of Meridian; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Visitation will be Monday from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for Roy "Little Roy" Walker will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Water Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Burial will be in Water Valley cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Walker, 63, of the Whynot community, died Friday, May 28, 2004 in his home. He was a retired Lauderdale County truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Earline Walker of the Whynot community; sons Jeffery Walker, Danny Walker, David Walker and Norman Walker, all of Meridian; a daughter Teresia Haney of Meridian; three grandchildren; a brother Norman D. Walker of Philadelphia; a sister Matterine Walker of Meridian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Ella Walker.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for the Rev. Charles L. Miles will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Revs. Michael Bush and Darrel Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in the Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Miles, 69, of Meridian, died Friday, May 28, 2004 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a Pentecostal Holiness minister for 40 years and a pastor at Glad Tidings Church for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Miller Miles of Meridian; daughters Debbie Wells and her husband Olen of Washington, Okla., Sandi Fuller and her husband David of Marion, and Kim Smith and her husband Sonny of Meridian; a sister Sybil Martin and her husband Bobby of Meridian; brothers Wade Miles and his wife Dale and Richard Miles and his wife Jackie, all of Meridian; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.H. and Opal Miles; a daughter Pamela Joyce Miles and a sister Shirley Lafferty.
The family requests memorials be made to Gideons International.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at Glad Tidings Church.

Mr. Carpenter, 62, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 in Sunflower County.
Survivors include his wife Homer Jean Carpenter of Meridian; sons Randy Carpenter of Portland, Ore. and Gregory Jordan of Augusta, Ga.; a daughter Sandra Carpenter of Los Angeles, Calif.; his mother Mary Carpenter; sisters Pauline Smith, Mae Lean Carpenter and Corene Clark, all of Meridian, and Lucy Mae Brown of DeKalb; brothers Elbert Carpenter and Joey Carpenter, both of Meridian and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Bettye Bell will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Newell Chapel. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bell, 49, of Meridian, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Riley Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her children Robert Rice Jr., Codie Rice Rush and Lakeysha Rice, all of Meridian; sisters Glenda Moore of Meridian and Angela Rackley of Long Beach, Calif.; brothers Edward Rackley of Jackson, David Rackley of Meridian and Jessie Rackley of Rochester, N.Y. and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bell Jr.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Robert Lewis Randle, 53, of Meridian, who died Friday, May 28, 2004 at Rush Foundation Hospital.
